The city of Cape Coral plans to begin dredging in the North Spreader Canal Monday, June 29. This project will continue for several months, and will be completed no later than mid-November.
The city’s Public Works Department dredging crew will be working in the canal Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding holidays. The project area will extend from the 300 block of Old Burnt Store Road south to Pine Island Road. The last time this portion of the North Spreader Canal was dredged was in 2008.
Canal access will be available throughout the project. Boaters are advised to use caution when traveling through the work area, and obey all signs, buoys and instructions while City workers are present. Speed limits will be strictly enforced.
