The canals at Keaton Beach (above) and surrounding coastal areas of Taylor County are filled with storm debris, including large portions of homes, complete roofs and the contents of residences destroyed by Hurricane Helene.
Hurricane Helene dealt a major blow to the county’s long-awaited plan to dredge coastal canals, which was expected to finally get underway this fall, as most local waterways are now filled with mountains of debris.
