No. 58, the newest and largest clamshell dredge, joins Great Lakes’ fleet

Spread the news! Great Lakes’ newest clamshell dredge, No. 58, has officially started dredging operations! On May 8th, Dredge Captain Phil Sanzone and Dredge Technical Manager Doug Wittwer successfully completed the commissioning of No. 58, in which it commenced dredging operations in Charleston, SC.

Capt. Sanzone and Chief Wittwer provided the leadership and effort required to work through numerous design, installation, crew training, and qualification tasks to launch what is now the largest clamshell dredge in Great Lakes’ fleet.
