Like many maritime followers and enthusiasts, it’s always a treat to see our semi-submersible heavy transport vessel BOKA Vanguard in action. Over the past decade, the vessel transported the most impressive oversized and heavyweight cargoes across the world’s oceans. But now the 275-meter-long vessel has begun a new chapter in its career.
A few months ago, the vessel was widened by 10.3 meters to over 80 meters, enabling the BOKA Vanguard to take even larger cargoes on deck for transport. This modification immediately demonstrated its added value. Recently, the BOKA Vanguard arrived in the port of Yalova, Turkey, with a massive dry dock on its deck. With a length of 360 meters, this floating dry dock is no less than 85 meters longer than our own transport vessel and has only a few meters of leeway in width.
Massive dimensions for a giant vessel. So we too are impressed with our own BOKA Vanguard, its crew and all colleagues involved, who have proven capable of creating new horizons in heavy marine transport for our clients.
