Nauset Dredge Update Meeting

Posted on January 23, 2018

There will be a Nauset Estuary Dredge Project Update Meeting at the Eastham library on Wednesday, Jan. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Eastham’s shellfish advisory committee has worked with Woods Hole Group in organizing this meeting to inform residents and town officials about the status of the proposed dredging project so that science-based decisions can be made as the project moves forward.

Up to this point, the project has been driven and funded by town of Orleans. Woods Hole Group has prepared a Nauset Estuary Dredge Feasibility Report for the Orleans that examines the feasibility of dredging a safe and navigable channel from Town Cove to Nauset Inlet. Areas of the estuary in Orleans, Eastham and a portion of the Cape Cod National Seashore are included in the conceptual dredge plan.

Leslie Fields of Woods Hole Group is the senior project manager on the Nauset Estuary Dredge Project and will be presenting the project at the public meeting.
