NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb.8, 2022) – Ronnie Davis, a transportation tech assigned to the Nashville District’s logistics section, is named Employee of the Month for December 2021. He is recognized for his commitment to providing quality fleet management services and customer service across the district.

Lt. Col. Joseph Sahl, Nashville District commander, announced Davis’s selection stating, “[Ronnie’s] a great example of what makes us NashStrong!”

As the fleet manager, Davis manages, plans, and directly oversees the operation, maintenance, repairs, and replacement of the district’s fleet of motor vehicles and trailers. In addition to his primary duties, Davis manages the mass transit program for over 60 customers residing in the District Office. He also manages 60 fuel Voyager cards for the project sites, allowing our customers to refuel Corps owned equipment like cranes, vessels, UTV’s and lawnmowers.

Theuron Owens, District Logistics Manager, describes Davis as someone who “always goes the extra mile, and it shows with his customer service. He has proven himself to be an invaluable asset to the Nashville District.”

While many people were on leave on or extended telework in December, Davis remained in the district office assisting customers face-to-face, paying fuel bills, and taking vehicles for cleaning and servicing. His dedication to the mission and his presence in the office were especially beneficial to ensuring replacement vehicles were ready for service in 2022.

Owens remarked, “When work needs to be accomplished – Ronnie is prepared and up for the challenge – from finding tools or vehicles through the Short-Term Rental Program to locating vendors for the replacement of cracked windshields on vehicles in remote locations.”

The work ethic displayed by Davis stems from his time in service in the Army. Davis served as a cavalry Scout, M1 Abrams tanker crewman, and a recruiter, putting in long hours and extra time face-to-face with people to accomplish the mission and future goals of the Army.

When asked about what he enjoyed the most about his work, Davis said “The people and the Corps mission.” He continued, “I enjoy the providing fleet and plant fuel support to the field offices; that’s where the rubber meets the road and the essence of what we all are here to do. They make it happen out there.”

His humble attitude and sense of service were hailed by Lt. Col. Sahl, “[his] willing attitude, hard work, and expertise are invaluable!! We are thankful and proud to have you as part of the greatest team!”
