The 2,300 m³ suction dredger is the first project that Nam Trieu has constructed and completed for its Dutch partner.
The 2,300 m³ suction dredger is the first product that Nam Trieu Shipbuilding Company Limited has constructed and completed for its Dutch partner. Notably, this is also the first vessel of Royal IHC (Netherlands) built at Nam Trieu, opening up a new direction of cooperation in the field of specialized shipbuilding for the dredging industry.
The vessel is 79.95 m long, 15 m wide, with a hull height of 5 m, a suction pipe diameter of 700 mm, and a sludge storage capacity of 2,300 m³. The vessel was constructed and completed by Nam Trieu according to the strict technical and quality requirements of the shipowner and BV classification society.
Based on the results of this project, Nam Trieu continued to secure contracts to build new suction dredgers for IHC Holland BV, including one 3,000 m³ dredger and two 9,000 m³ dredgers. This provides a foundation for the company to maintain its workload, enhance its specialized shipbuilding capacity, and expand cooperation with the international market.
The completion of the first 2,300 m³ suction dredger for a Dutch partner not only adds to Vietnam’s shipbuilding industry’s export products but also affirms the capabilities of Hai Phong shipbuilding enterprises in constructing and completing specialized vessels according to international standards. This provides the enterprise with more opportunities to participate more deeply in the shipbuilding cooperation chain with foreign partners.
