N. Topsail Beach receives over $3 Mil. for beach restoration project

North Topsail Beach will receive more than $3 million to help with beach restoration efforts, according FEMA.

More than 137,000 cubic yards of sand will be replaced and over 365,000 dune anchoring plants will be replanted. This will help restore some of the damage caused by Hurricane Florence.

Once completed, the project will help protect the beach from storms for up to five years.

Congressman Greg Murphy issued the following statement in response to the funding. It reads in part:

“Thanks to this funding, North Topsail Beach will be able to continue their efforts to secure their coastline property against tropical storms and hurricanes.”
