Beginning Jan. 11, 2021, temporary construction fencing will be installed in project Work Areas #11 and #12, in the vicinity of the Victory Gardens. The existing stonedust pathway will remain open for pedestrian access for the duration of the project. Signage will be in place to safely guide pedestrians and bicyclists around the work area.
Progress for the Phase 2 project continues with dredging of Work Area #2 (in the vicinity of Brookline Avenue and Riverway, near Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital) and Work Area #8 (near Clemente Field). Production of daily dredged material has increased such that the processing bins of the Central Processing Facility on the left bank of Work Area #11 (near the Victory Gardens) will need to be constructed to supplement the already constructed bins on the right bank near the Duck House. These bins are required to store the dredged sediment while it is dewatered and stabilized before the processed sediment is loaded and transported to the final disposal facility.
