The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has completed 30 percent of the harbor development project in Nellaidhoo island of Haa Dhaal atoll.
Currently, the company is working on the dredging component of the harbor development project, which is at 45 percent progression.

Under the scope of the project, MTCC is tasked with dredging the harbor basin measuring 22,860 square meters, dredging and constructing 10,294 square meters as well as building a breakwater measuring 164 meters.
Further, MTCC is tasked with installing a paved area measuring 2,102 square meters, and installing groynes as well as a 224-meter seawall.
The installation of harbor lights and navigational lights is also included under the scope of the project.
The Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure contracted MTCC with the project on August 27, 2019.
The project is valued at MVR 47,623,290.28.
Further, MTCC revealed that the road construction and development project in Ungoofaaru island of Raa atoll is well underway.
As such, the company revealed that they are currently conducting the installation of stormwater pipes needed for the construction of the roads.
Under the scope of the project, 13 major roads on the island will be developed.
Valued at MVR 28.66 million, the project was mobilized on June 12, 2019.
