MPA Singapore, has issued a port marine notice on the dredging work at Sungei Pandan from 16 May 2016 to 15 July 2016.The project will be set 24 hours daily including Sundays and Public Holidays.
Specifically, the dredging work will be carried out by grab dredgers held in position by spuds. Tug boats will be used to shift the dredgers. The dredged materials
will be transported to the designated dumping grounds by split barges, which will be shifted by tug boats. Safety boats will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area of the project.
When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
- Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
- Maintain a proper lookout;
- Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
- Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 25 (Pasir Panjang
Control); and - Communicate with Pasir Panjang Control on VHF Channel 25
for assistance, if required.
