Stonington Harbor Master Eric Donch said the crew, with the 105-foot Snell crane barge and the 150-foot Currituck hopper barge, started work Nov. 28 and expect to complete the job later this week.
The equipment is designed to remove large rocks and areas of hard packed sand that could not be removed with the equipment used in the first phase of the channel restoration.
