A dredging project is getting underway Monday in Wabasha to help reduce truck traffic through the community.
The Army Corps of Engineers is building a 6,200 foot pipeline from the Reads Landing Island River Sand Placement Site along the Mississippi Riverto the corps-owned gravel pit on the north side of Wabasha.
This is going to help move sand more efficiently between the two locations resulting in less truck transportation.
The $2.7 million project is set to wrap up by the end of summer.
It also includes construction of a foot bridge over Brewery Creek.
