Mercator Wins Rs 15 Cr Maintenance Dredging Order at Karaikal Port

The Mittals-promoted Mercator Ltd has bagged a new contract worth Rs 15 crore for maintenance dredging at the Karaikal port.

Mercator said in a statement today that “the company has received a contract for maintenance dredging at Karaikal port. The value of the contract is approximately Rs 15 crore and the work will be completed during first half of FY2018.”

Mercator Ltd, formerly Mercator Lines, is a diversified enterprise with main business interest in oil drudging, coal and commodity transportation and sea bound-bulk cargo handling. It is the second largest private sector shipping company in India, and is based in Mumbai.

Last month, the company had bagged a similar contract worth Rs 98 crore from the New Mangalore Port Trust for maintenance dredging at New Mangalore Port for a period of three years.
