HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A ceremony is scheduled to mark the completion of a dredging project at Maunalua Bay, which finished ahead of schedule.
The state Department of Land and Natural Resources announced Friday that the blessing will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 10 a.m. at the Maunalua Bay Boat Ramp.
The dredging project began on July 28, 2025, and was scheduled to last until April 2026.
Project included multiple improvements
In November 2025, DLNR officials said the work was essential to providing rescuers with a clear launch path for water missions.
