The town of Mashpee is seeking a permit to dredge two of its bays and use the spoils as beach nourishment, according to a statement from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Mashpee is proposing to dredge a total of 31,150 cubic yards of material from Waquoit Bay and three sections of Popponesset Bay and move 24,700 cubic yards of the dredged material to Wills Work Road Beach, the Popponesset Spit and South Cape Beach, according to the statement.
