A dredging project on the South River is helping bolster Marshfield’s shoreline.
In the final weeks of 2015, sand was sucked out of a shallow section of the South River and poured onto Rexhame Beach as a long-planned dredging project presented an opportunity for beach nourishment. The project will leave a stretch of the public beach about 1.5 feet deeper with sand, Marshfield engineer Rod Procaccino said.
