Mantoloking Beach Replenishment update

ACOE

Posted on August 27, 2025

As of Saturday, the 16th the beach replenishment has started in Mantoloking, as stated in pervious post the ACOE contractor is starting behind 1229 Ocean Ave. Currently the beach is closed between Herbert and Downer, lifeguards from Downer have been moved to Princeton. Once the contractor has pumped a pad site, most of the staged equipment will be moved.  Until their pad site can be constructed equipment will be staged on the beach at the toe of the dune.  The plan is to pump south first maintaining one-thousand-foot sections of closures for safety.  Once they get to the southern border they will be turning around and will begin pumping north back from the pipe behind 1229 Ocean Ave, proceeding to the Bay Head border.  The project will cover the entire town, with touch ups to the dune, dune fence and walkways where needed.

This is a 24-hour operation and you will see and hear machinery along the beach front during this time.  The project is scheduled to take 25 days in Mantoloking however this plan is fluid and dependent upon weather and mechanical issues.  We have weekly meetings with the ACOE team, and will continue to release updates through our social media accounts and the Borough website.  If you haven’t already you are encouraged to sign up for alerts by simply clicking the subscribe button at the top of the Borough’s website.
