Message from the President
As I write my first Navigator message to you as your new president, I’m very excited about what is in store for us as we continue the century-plus-long Manson Construction journey together.
We will look back upon 2025 as a year of significant change for Manson. Several valued colleagues have decided to embrace well-deserved retirements, including our former President and current member of our Board of Directors, John Holmes. Over his 48-year career, John laid the foundation for the successful company we are today. Earlier this year, we joined forces with Michels Corporation to form the Manson/Michels JV, which was awarded the Terminal 1 Replacement contract at the Port of Alaska in Anchorage—marking the largest Manson-led contract in the company’s history. We are also wrapping up the largest investment in the company’s history with the construction of the nation’s largest self-propelled hopper dredge at Seatrium AmFELS in Brownsville, TX. The construction of the FREDERICK PAUP is an enormous undertaking that has leveraged expertise across numerous Manson departments, as you will read about in this issue of the Navigator. Any one of those three developments would be a major milestone for the company in a given year.
While change can feel daunting, our guiding core principles don’t change. We continue to focus on taking care of people, doing the right thing, and finding a better way. These are the principles that have helped us build the strong reputation for excellence that defines Manson today. Our workforce remains our greatest asset. Your expertise, creativity, and unwavering commitment to safety have positioned us well to take advantage of the many exciting opportunities that are on our horizon. As always, our primary focus is on keeping people safe. One of our more recent efforts to continually improve our safe work practices is the roll-out of our Life-Saving Rules (“LSR”) Program. Much like our Serious Injury or Fatality (“SIF”) program is an effort to focus special attention on the incidents that we can learn the most valuable lessons from, the LSR program will help us focus special attention on the fundamental rules of behavior that, when followed, keep us safe in the presence of some of our most serious and prevalent risks. Please be on the lookout for information on our LSRs and make them a routine part of your planning and execution.
As we navigate this exciting period of transition together, I want you to know how grateful I am to be part of this exceptional team. Our future has never looked brighter, and I look forward to building on the success of Manson to date. Thank you for your continued dedication and excellence.
Warm regards,
James McNally
Manson President & CEO
