Major closures along the Pacific Coast Highway begin Monday as crews start to repair damage brought on by the Woolsey Fire and recent mudslides.
Utility crews continue to work to restore power to hundreds in the area who are still without power since the fire. Those crews were delayed by last week’s heavy rainfall.
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will begin work to repair damage to infrastructure and shore up hillsides.
Caltrans crews will be doing things like replacing damaged guard rails, removing debris, removing damaged signs, placing netting along slopes.
The work will impact a 20-mile stretch, in the right lane and shoulder of northbound or westbound PCH, in various areas between Coastline and Decker Canyon, taking place from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
Drivers should expect significant delays along PCH, and are urged to allow plenty of time for commutes.
