Terneuzen, September 30, 2025.
Commissioned by North Sea Port, Dredging Company De Boer is carrying out maintenance dredging works in the Zevenaarhaven in Terneuzen. The project aims to optimize the shipping channel so that vessels can maneuver and moor safely in the harbor. A total of approximately 40,000m³ of dredged material will be dredged and removed.
Dredging Company De Boer deployed the crane vessel Rival to carry out the work. The dredging work is being carefully executed in two phases: first, the clean sludge is removed and transported to distribution areas in the Western Scheldt. Then, the contaminated sludge is dredged and transported by barge to the Hollandsch Diep Dredging Depot, where it will be further processed.
The Rival is currently removing the last quantities of clean sludge. The work is progressing according to schedule and is being carried out with due regard for safety and the environment. Our crane vessel Rival has been awarded the Green Award Gold certification, which means we meet high safety and environmental standards.
The vessel also meets Stage V emission standards. De Boer Dredging is a medium-sized dredging company based in Sliedrecht. Our activities include dredging, surveying, and other hydraulic engineering work in the broadest sense of the word.
