Leaders say the ship has two full sized, fully functional bridges and engine rooms.
U.S. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy says ships like the “State of Maine” are crucial to the country having command of the ocean.
“We are going to have American maritime dominance, we are going to focus on the maritime industry. We can’t cede ship building to the rest of the world,” U.S. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy said.
The “State of Maine” is the largest and most sophisticated ship operated by the academy.
