The boating community is on notice to pay particular care while operating in Block 60903 Leeward channel in Providenciales as construction work is carried out.
That construction started on Friday, August 11, and includes the creation of canal access, beach, pier structures and docks, approach dredging and site grading.
Windward Development Company (Blue Cay Estate Project) is carrying out the works, which will be completed on or about November 30, the Maritime Department advised in a press statement.
“Due to this, we are asking all watersports operators; specifically captains, skippers, charter companies, and jet ski operators to please take note of the project and to be vigilant whilst operating in the designated area.
“We ask all persons to adhere to the wake speed of 5mph, as speeding may move the turbidity curtains around,” the release read.
Anyone with questions can contact the Maritime Department on 338-4171 or 338-4179 or email hwilson@gov.tc or cskippings@gov.tc
