LBI Replenishment Moving Along As Dredge Boat Undergoes Repairs

The ever-changing beach replenishment schedule for Long Beach Island is continuing to evolve as one of two dredge boats involved in the project is receiving repairs.

The dredge boat Padre Island was receiving repairs offshore recently while the Dodge Island was continuing dredging operations, sucking up sand and delivering it to island beaches. By August 5, the contractor on the project, Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company, had relocated to a new pipeline landfall and will continue to progress south to tie-in with another discharge location in the Spray Beach section of Long Beach Township.
