A ceremony marking the dredging of Lake Zumbro will be held Saturday.
While work on the lake must wait until road restrictions are lifted to move heavy equipment into place, Lake Zumbro Forever is marking the end of more than a decade of work at 10 a.m. Saturday on the public fishing pier near Fisherman’s Inn on Fisherman Drive Northwest, Oronoco.
The event will include various speakers and the dedication of a monument recognizing donors to the $7.4 million project.
In addition to $3.5 million in state funds, the project is being funded through private donations, contributions from Olmsted and Wabasha counties and Rochester Public Utilities and assessments levied on owners of lakeside properties.
