Lake DeSoto’s drawdown began today, Monday, Nov. 2.
Hot Springs Village Property Owners’ Association Lakes Department will lower it by up to 8 feet, at an estimated 2 inches per day, depending upon rainfall.
Drawdown goals are to allow maintenance and silt removal to boost shoreline access and water quality. Residents may obtain POA permits to maintain or construct new docks, seawalls or other structures.
In a special exception, the POA will allow DeSoto residents to store permitted boats – only on trailers – at homes during the drawdown.
