Lake Commission talks dredging

The Lake Improvement Commission accepted a proposal from Dredge America of Kansas City, MO at Tuesday’s meeting. This means a contract to begin work on the dredge will be negotiated and brought before the board by Jim Patrick for further discussion and approval. Dredge America responded to five pieces of the bid discussing different options for maintenance, fuel, equipment, and operational costs. Something to be discussed at a further date will be the possible purchase of the dredge by Dredge America after the process has been complete.

This year’s dredging started on May 19th with an all new dredging crew of three employees. Pat Kelly reports that work started slow, but picked up in the first week of June. Then in the second week of June, the heat exchange boost pump broke.
