KMEW Lands Dredge Contract from India’s DCI

KMEW’s latest achievement highlights its leadership in dredging services, showcasing its ability to deliver large-scale, technically demanding projects on time, ensuring the long-term navigability of Deendayal Port.

Knowledge Marine & Engineering Works Ltd. (KMEW) has been awarded a dredging contract by the Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) for Dredging in the Navigational Channel, Kandla Creek, Oil Jetties & Cargo Berths at Deendayal Port. The contract is valued at Rs 48.45 crore, including taxes, for a period of one year, with the potential for a one-year extension, bringing the total contract value to Rs 96.91 crore.

This project is part of a larger dredging operation at Deendayal Port, which has a total value of approximately Rs 409 crore. KMEW’s share of the contract is 10%, reflecting its expertise in complex dredging projects. The scope of work includes both capital and maintenance dredging to ensure optimal depth for smooth vessel movement, efficient cargo handling at oil jetties and cargo berths, and dredging in Kandla Creek to facilitate easy vessel entry and exit.

The contract also involves ongoing surveys and monitoring to maintain dredging efficiency. KMEW’s commitment to operational excellence is demonstrated through the deployment of the Trailer Suction Hopper Dredger (TSHD) to execute the project efficiently. This reinforces the company’s position as a trusted partner for large-scale dredging operations at key Indian ports.

KMEW’s track record of successful projects at Deendayal Port, including ongoing maintenance dredging and salvage work under an Rs 15.06 crore order, underscores its capability in delivering high-quality maritime infrastructure solutions. With the new contract win, KMEW continues to expand its presence at one of India’s vital western coast ports.
