The Kitsap County Board of Commissioners approved a contract with Pacific Civil & Infrastructure Inc. at its Aug. 11 meeting for the Point No Point phase restoration and repair project, following significant damage that occurred to the area following a king tide event in December of 2022.
During the king tide, tidal waters overtopped the Point No Point north beach in Hansville. Emergency repairs were initially completed, but additional repairs were required. Phase 2 will reconstruct the beaches and surroundings to allow the park to fully reopen, per county documents. Construction is slated to start in early September and be completed by mid-October. Public access to the area will still be allowed during construction.
The total project cost is about $1.32 million, which falls within the county’s parks capital fund.
