The state of Hawaii recently awarded Kiewit Infrastructure West Co. a $352.5 million contract for the second phase of the Kapalama Terminal wharf and dredging project at Honolulu Harbor.

The state is nearing the completion of the first phase of improvements to the Kapalama Terminal for shipping company Pasha Hawaii.

The contract of the second award, which was issued Oct. 12, involves construction of the wharves, shoreline and bulkheads and will be completed sometime in 2023, state officials previously told Pacific Business News.

The work is close to where Amazon.com paid $125 million to buy a 14.45-acre lot on Auiki Street. It is unknown at this point what Amazon plans to do with the property.
