Jimmerson Lake Project Underway with Ellicott Swinging Dragon Dredge

Posted on September 7, 2017

Fall 2017 dredge projects at Jimmerson Lake, Indiana, are underway, says Superior Dredging of Illinois.

Using their new Ellicott Swinging Dragon Dredge Jenny-Kay, Superior Dredging started Site 1 work by the dam on West Bachelor Road in August. They will continue to work eastward, and it is expected to take three weeks to complete this phase.

Once completed, the company will move to the south end of the lake, where they will work on three unique projects. The first will be the nearly silted in channel along Lane 101D referred to as Site 8. Next on the list is the Site 7 channel along the Jimmerson Bluffs. The final phase will be restoring the area in front of Hilltop Park.

It is estimated that the work will take seven weeks to complete, and will move over 25,000 cubic yards of sediment in total from the four different locations on the lake. Indiana DNR’s Lake and River Enhancement (LARE) program and the Jimmerson Lake Association and private homeowners have provided funding for the project.
