Port Houston announced that Jim Teague, Co-Chief Executive Officer and Director of Enterprise Products, will be honored with the 3rd Annual Lone Star Award on November 3rd during the Houston International Maritime Conference (HIMC). The event, taking place November 2–5 at the Hilton Americas in downtown Houston, will bring together leaders from the maritime, energy, and petrochemical sectors for high-level discussions, networking, and industry insight. The award recognizes Mr. Teague’s exceptional partnership with Port Houston and his outstanding contributions to the global energy and petrochemical industries.
Port Houston is the advocate and strategic leader for the Houston Ship Channel. The Houston Ship Channel is the busiest waterway in the nation, the number one gateway for energy products, number one in steel, and home to the fifth ranked container port in the U.S.
Port Houston’s role in powering trade and regional growth underscores the significance of honoring a leader like Mr. Teague, whose career has been deeply connected to the vital energy industry and prosperity of the Houston Ship Channel.
“Jim Teague represents the kind of leadership and vision that has made Houston a global hub for energy, petrochemicals, and maritime trade,” said Charlie Jenkins, Chief Executive Officer at Port Houston. “We are proud to honor him with the 3rd Annual Lone Star Award, which recognizes partnership excellence. His career embodies the resilience, innovation, and global impact that this award was created to celebrate.”
Mr. Teague has been at the forefront of the energy and petrochemical industries for decades and is a fierce advocate for policies that support long-term dominance of American energy. Since joining Enterprise Products in 1999, he has held several senior leadership roles, including Chief Commercial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Executive Officer, before being named Co-CEO and Director of Enterprise GP. Under his leadership, Enterprise has expanded its global footprint and become a leading force in energy infrastructure. His career began in service to the nation during the Vietnam War, where he served in an attack helicopter squadron and as a Naval intelligence officer, before transitioning to Dow Chemicals and ultimately Enterprise Products.
This year’s HIMC program will feature influential sessions on topics shaping world trade and maritime operations, including Panama Canal updates, the tariff effect on sourcing and infrastructure, innovations in energy and petrochemicals, and digitalization in tanker shipping. Beyond the panels, HIMC is a premier networking opportunity, connecting executives, policymakers, and industry leaders from around the globe.
Mr. Teague will deliver a keynote address on November 3 at 3:10 p.m., followed by his recognition as the 2025 Lone Star Award honoree.
