From 6 June and for approximately 7 months, dredging operations will be carried out within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (F):
(A) 22 deg. 17.709’N / 114 deg. 08.509’E
(B) 22 deg. 17.546’N / 114 deg. 08.555’E
(C) 22 deg. 17.277’N / 114 deg. 07.396’E
(D) 22 deg. 17.409’N / 114 deg. 07.361’E
(E) 22 deg. 17.500’N / 114 deg. 07.756’E
(F) 22 deg. 17.532’N / 114 deg. 07.747’E
To alleviate the impact to marine traffic in the Southern Fairway and the North Green Island Fairway arising from the dredging operations, temporarily widened fairways with boundaries joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (G) to (I) will be established:
(G) 22 deg. 17.800’N / 114 deg. 08.520’E
(H) 22 deg. 17.570’N / 114 deg. 07.460’E
(I) 22 deg. 17.569’N / 114 deg. 06.592’E
In conjunction with the temporarily widened fairways, the light buoy “Victoria” will be temporarily relocated about 250 metres north-westward from its charted position to the following position (WGS 84 Datum) on 6 June 2016:
(G) 22 deg. 17.800’N / 114 deg. 08.520’E
The dredging operations will be carried out after the temporary relocation of the light buoy “Victoria”.
The works will be carried out by a grab dredger. Two tugboats and three split-hopper barges will assist in the works. The number of vessels engaged in the works will change from time to time to suit operational requirements.
A working area of approximately 250 metres by 170 metres around the grab dredger will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the grab dredger.
The works will be carried out round-the-clock.
The vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.
Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.
