Local State MP Michael Holland said he’s happy to get a quick response from his government to issues surrounding the Clyde River in Batemans Bay.
30,000 cubic metres of sand will be dredged from the main shipping path in the bay later this year as part of a new ten-year plan.
Nearby Surfside homeowners who are living in fear of tidal inundation hoping it will be deposited closer to the disappearing beachfront backyards.
Dr Holland said he pushed hard for this outcome after recent meetings with residents.
“The wheels went into motion really quickly,” he said.
“I think the people on Surfside, I would understand would be pretty grateful.”
