Hatteras-to-Ocracoke Ferry passengers may experience some schedule changes starting Monday and continuing for two weeks.
The North Carolina Transportation Ferry Division will begin dredging a portion of the channel that was damaged by Hurricane Matthew.
Because of the work and the tides, passengers using the ferry route may experience sporadic service interruptions. Preparation for the dredging is already underway, and dredging will begin Monday.
Passengers should stay updated on the schedule before traveling on the ferry by checking the Ferry Division Twitter feed or by calling the Hatteras terminal at 252-986-2353, or the Ocracoke terminal at 252-928-1665, or by checking the N.C. Department of Transportation’s Ferry Division website.
