Given Chequamegon Bay’s notoriously fickle fall winds and weather, it requires good timing, good crews and a healthy amount of good fortune to complete major area construction projects before snowfall.
Contractors working on a permanent breakwater near the Ashland Lakefront Superfund Site saw all three fall into place this year. Construction on the project was completed at the end of October, which was well ahead of expectations.
