Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Co. has submitted a bid almost $5 million under budget for the beach nourishment project planned in Kill Devil Hills, Kitty Hawk and Duck.
The Dare County Board of Commissioners will meet at 8:30 a.m. next Thursday to review the bids, and the one chosen will be submitted for approval by the Local Government Commission in Raleigh. The LGC oversees local budget matters to assess any fiscal risks from excessive debt and other factors.
Four bids were opened this week, according to a statement from the county.
