Government Urged To Allow Councils Dredge Shannon

The Government is being urged to ensure that councils can carry out essential dredging works on the Shannon.

Fianna Fáil’s Eugene Murphy claims that interference from various agencies remains a ‘massive problem’ for people in at-risk areas along the river.

Public Expenditure Minister Paschal Donohoe has told the Roscommon Galway TD that the Government has taken steps to ensure there is now more joined-up thinking.
