The Macau SAR Government has authorised a temporary dumping area for dredged materials located in the territorial waters south of Ka Ho, in Coloane, according to a dispatch in the Official Gazette on Monday.
The temporary dumping area will be used for three years, with the usage contract open for renewal.
According to regulations, an entity must obtain a permit for depositing dredged materials by the Marine and Water Bureau (DSAMA), with the permit valid for one year.
The current dumping area is located in the sea to the southeast of Ka Ho.
In 2016, DSAMA said that the current dumping area was expected to be out of use eventually due to the progression of reclaimed land.
