GLDD was pleased to host a VIP tour on board our ATB Ellis Island/Doug Mackie last week which is currently working on the Thimble Shoals deepening project. Included were former MARAD administrator RADM (ret) Mark Buzby, senior staff from the House T&I committee, and leadership from National Waterways Conference, and American Waterways Operators. The visit was co led with representatives of project owners Virginia Port Authority and the Norfolk District Corps of Engineers.
