Gov. Rick Scott on Tuesday released a proposed $87.4 billion budget for the 2018-2019 fiscal year.

Lawmakers will negotiate a spending plan during the legislative session that starts in January.

Scott’s proposal, “Securing Florida’s Future,” includes $53 million to help combat the opioid epidemic, $50 million for the Florida Forever Conservation program and $30 million to increase salaries of law-enforcement officers.

The proposal also calls for $180 million in tax and fee cuts.

In the Panhandle, the budget calls for $45 million to widen from two to six lanes and reconstruct existing lanes on Highway 390. $1.25 million for a dredging project to widen and deepen berth 3 in the Port of Panama City.

The budget also includes funds to update the emergency operations center in Franklin County.
