FENWICK ISLAND, Del.- The town of Fenwick Island is moving forward with plans to dredge the Little Assawoman Bay.
At Friday’s town council meeting, those with the Dredging Committee requested funding for a pre-dredging study for the north side of the bay.
“[The] same company is going to do the north end, then we are going to take that and prepare a preliminary plan that we can walk into DNREC with for the dredging of the town,” Bernie Merritt, a member of the Fenwick Island Dredging Committee, said.
Merritt says dredging is needed more than ever, as more boaters are getting stuck in the Little Assawoman Bay.
