The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has given word that a proposal to create islands and conduct dredging at the head of Lake Pepin has been selected for a federally funded review.
Lake Pepin Legacy Alliance President Mike McKay called the news “an important milestone,” adding the non-profit conservation group has been exploring the project along with Audubon Minnesota for the past couple years.
