Colonel Evers presented awards to members of the Engineering and Construction for their accomplishments in the EC Leading Change Challenge.
The Bluestone Streamlined Modification Process Team, composed of Michael Presley, Mandie Ronk and Jeffrey Gilkison, was recognized with an on the spot award for their winning proposal of a streamlined process for executing field modifications. This new process aligns with the procedure outlined in the Resident Management System, allows for the automatic creation of an electronic document package that is required in accordance with the USACE mandate, eliminates the need to manually create a modification package for Contracting Division, reduces overall modification process time and risk of work stoppages and delay costs, and reduces required resources to execute contract modifications.
Dustin Sawyers was recognized with an on the spot award for his winning proposal for improved communication through centralization of data. The idea is based on a “one-stop-shop” for all pertinent project information utilizing SharePoint or another database to centralize information and links. The concept incorporates an interface which allows quick and easy access to frequently requested project information.
The Huntington District Materials Lab Team was recognized for being a finalist in the Engineering and Construction Leading Change Challenge competition with a proposal to establish a permanent Huntington District Materials Lab. Their proposal for a Huntington District Materials Lab demonstrates their passion for their expertise in materials and materials testing and an eagerness to perform testing in house. The team includes: Katherine L. Allen, Sofía D. Boscio-López, Jo J. Huff, Mike Spoor, Frank Albert, Will Rankin, Matt O’Bryan, Lisa Gatens, Gina Weikle, Sandy Nesmith, Simon Fet and Drake Fertig.
