Ellicott Dredge Enterprises Introduces New Compact Economical IMS Model 4008 LP Versi-Dredge

2026 IMS Model 4008 LP Versi-Dredge

Posted on March 30, 2026

Ellicott Dredge Enterprises introduces the all-new IMS Model 4008 LP Versi-Dredge® as a more economical option for self-propelled maintenance dredging. The new system is an ultra-compact design with dual function hydraulic dredger and weed harvester capabilities designed for lakes, canals, marinas, and industrial ponds.

“We listened to our customers and the dredging market and created a more economical Versi-Dredge for contractors and municipalities handling smaller maintenance projects without compromising versatility. The new 4008 LP Versi-Dredge is still a dual function dredger and weed harvester and has an optional Transport – Launch – Retrieval (TLR) Trailer like all other Versi-Dredge models, but it is lighter weight, more compact, and lower flow making it ideal for downstream dewatering equipment,” says Ryan Horton, Vice President, Auger Dredge Division.

The IMS 4008 LP comes standard with the patented Starwheel Drive® self-propulsion system. The system functions as a high-RPM paddle wheel on the water’s surface or can be independently lowered via each heavy-duty steel Star Arm to the maximum cutting depth, allowing the dredge to “walk” along the bottom in a low-RPM, high torque mode as a cleated traction drive system. Additionally, it can be equipped with a four-point cable drive traverse system for operation in poly-plastic or cement-lined lagoons, with an available liner-protection wheel system.

Here is a brief overview of the IMS 4008 LP Versi-Dredge:

The IMS 4008 LP comes standard with a climate-controlled cab with port and starboard entry. The dual-joystick controls manage all dredge functions. Standard cab features include a slurry sample line with on/off switch in cab, IQAN screen, rear back-up camera with color display, digital depth gauge, and indoor and outdoor lighting system.
