Ellicott delivers 3 IMS brand self-propelled dredges to USA clients

Posted on October 3, 2025

Ellicott Dredge Enterprises, LLC (EDE) just completed three brand new Generation IVIMS Versi-Dredge units that are ready for shipment to multiple customers in the United States, one of which is a repeat customer. The two IMS 7012 HP Versi-Dredge units will go to a sand mining operation while the IMS 5012 LP Versi-Dredge will go to a biosolids contractor.

The new Generation IV Versi-Dredge® models are all one truck transportable and have optional Transport-Launch-Retrieve (TLR) Trailers available, optional patented WeedMaster® cutterheads for cutting and pumping vegetation, patented Pump Defender® technology to reduce downtime by up to 80% in debris rich environments, and the patented Starwheel Drive® self-propulsion system with patented TractionMaster® technology for effective operation in paddle wheel mode and bottom traction drive mode. Starwheel Drive eliminates the need for cables, anchors, or dredge tender boats and allows the operator to maneuver in tight spaces where other dredges can’t reach. When operating in lined wastewater or industrial ponds, the Versi-Dredge can operate on a 4-point cable drive traversing system and be equipped with liner protection wheels to ensure plastic and cement liner integrity.

The Gen IV cabs come standard with a 10-inch IQAN screen, folding jump seat for deckhand, robust dual joystick controls for all dredge functions integrated into an ergonomic operator’s chair, climate control, rear back up camera, and a digital depth gauge. The cabs are build specifically for a dredging environment and designed for maximum operator comfort and efficiency.

“You cannot find a better value in the one truck transportable dredging market in terms of performance, price, versatility, and reliability than the Gen IV Versi-Dredge.  Our dredges are one truck transportable when fully assembled and reach depths of 22 ft. (6.7m) to 30 ft. (9.1m) and can dredge sand and 9 ft. (2.74m) tall cattails which no other dredge on the market can do.  It’s all about performance and maximizing output for our customers and an easy to manage platform.  It’s easy to slap on a bunch of side tanks and stabilizers on a small dredge, but you lose the advantage of one truck transportability and mobility,” said Ryan Horton, Vice President Auger Dredge Division.
