The Bahrain Real Estate Investment (Edamah) has signed an agreement with Vision Marine to undertake the reclamation work for the beachfront “Saada” Project. The deal followed directives from His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa to proceed with service projects, including the Muharraq beachfront renovation.
Edamah is considered as the real estate arm of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat). Vision Marine is an expanding engineering company specialized in dredging, construction and other fields. The first phase of the multi-stage project will cover 18,000 square metres and feature beachfront restaurants, cafes and leisure facilities, in addition to a jetty.
Edamah Acting Chief Executive Officer Mahmoud Al-Kooheji thanked HRH the Premier for his keenness on the “Saada” project, being one of the planned vital projects that provide leisure and tourism options. He commended the follow-up of Deputy Premier Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa and the HRH Premier’s Court, in coordination with other relevant government parties.
“Edamah is expected to invite bids for the first phase of the project during the last quarter of this year”, he said, adding that preliminary construction work would last 12 months. Development plans for the second phase have been drawn-up in coordination with the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications to relocate the bus station. The “Saada” development project, expected to provide 1000 jobs, will feature a multi-storey parking and other vital facilities.
