Press release from the City of Dunedin:

04/29/2020 12:00 PM

The Dunedin Marina boat ramp will close to the general public effective Friday, May 8, 2020. The City of Dunedin will begin dredging the marina on Monday, June 1st, with staging in the parking lot areas possibly starting a week prior. The boat ramp closure is necessary to allow for project preparation, staging and removal of boats from the marina basin. Annual boat ramp passes for 2020 will be extended for the same length of time the ramp is closed. The City’s objective is to ensure that the dredge is completed as quickly as possible. The contractual completion date for dredging is November 2, 2020, however the City has incentivized the contractor to encourage early completion. We truly appreciate your patience, and ask for your continued support and cooperation while these enhancements to our marina are underway.

  • The newly renovated Seminole Street Boat Launch is the nearest public boat ramp, located 2.8 miles south of the Dunedin Marina.

Launch is open 24 hours, 7 days
    8 ramps available
Permits must be purchased from the parking permit machines on site.

  • Once the dredging operations begin on June 1st, it is an active construction zone and access to the Marina, boat slips, day docks, pier and west side of the Marina and Boat Club is prohibited.
  • Edgewater Park will remain open; however the playground is currently closed due to COVID-19.
  • At this time, Olde Bay Café will remain open for take-out only. Call 727-733-2542 or visit www.oldebaycafe.com.

We acknowledge that there is no perfect time to dredge a marina and we do sympathize with the inconvenience that comes with these improvements. The good news is that the contractor is very committed to ensuring the work is completed as quickly as possible, weather permitting of course.
