RESERVE, LOUISIANA – For the last two months DSC Dredge has been undergoing major expansion of its Reserve facility following the surge in demand for its custom dredges. With multiple large dredges currently under construction across its two manufacturing locations, DSC has outgrown its existing footprint and is expanding to increase production capacity.
Today the Reserve yard is actively manufacturing four custom dredges at the same time while two additional builds are underway in Poplarville, Mississippi. This workload represents a new milestone for DSC as mining, aggregates, construction materials, and international project contractors continue to choose DSC equipment for quality, long-term productivity and reliability.
“We are seeing sustained growth from the markets we serve. The volume of equipment moving through our yards confirms that customers are prioritizing quality and dependability. This expansion has been forthcoming and ensures we are aligned with the demand,” said Bob Wetta, President and CEO of DSC Dredge. “Our goal continues to be to deliver on-spec and with the engineering precision DSC is known for. Increasing our capacity strengthens that commitment.”
The facility enhancement includes development of usable land at the Reserve, LA facility. The expansion includes electrical upgrades, restructured material handling zones, expanded storage for large hulls and assemblies, improved workflow paths that support larger simultaneous builds, and much-needed additional parking areas. We are also in the process of major electrical upgrades to our Poplarville, MS facility to add the capability to manufacture electrical dredges at this facility in their entirety.
Josh J. Louviere, Vice President of Operations, noted that the rise in production reflects DSC’s long-term customer partnerships. “Many of the dredges in fabrication right now are for clients DSC has served for years. Their projects are scaling, and they trust us to scale with them. The expansion is a direct response to what our customers need next.”

From the engineering and technology side, the increased capacity supports faster innovation cycles and more room for specialized builds. Bill Wetta, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, emphasized that customer requirements are evolving and the expansion strengthens DSC’s ability to respond. “We are building highly customized systems, often engineered for unique applications and site conditions. The added space allows our teams to manage more complex designs from concept through fabrication without slowing the production line.”
Inside the facility, the impact is already visible. Bob added, “The expansion gives the fabrication teams the room and resources necessary to maintain quality while meeting aggressive timelines. It also provides the space needed for the substantial growth of our workforce. We are producing more dredges at once than ever before. The updated layout and new areas have improved flow, improved safety, and allowed our teams to work at full capacity. This is a major step in preparing us for the next decade of growth.”
DSC will continue to share updates as construction progresses, and new operational areas are completed.
