SIBU : A small river serving as drainage system along Lang Lang Road at Sungai Sadit here, spanning about three kilometers, is currently being dredged and cleared, said Bawang Assan assemblyman Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh.
He said many parts of the river had become blocked due to erosion, overgrown grass, and weeds.
“Once the River is dredged and cleared, the farmland along the river will no longer be subjected to flooding.
“The dredging and clearing works are expected to be completed in a few days,” he said.
Wong was seen inspecting the ongoing works yesterday.
Accompanying him were Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) Sungai Sadit community development committee chairman Yong Loh Kwong and PDP Paradom community development committee chairman, Ting Hung Hua.
